Christmas FUN!

Gosh, it's been Sooooooooooooooooooo nice being home on maternity leave for the holidays... I just pop in that Christmas CD of Frank Sinatra's and let it repeat all darn day... it just makes ya feel all warm and fuzzy! OF COURSE tis the season to go to the tree farm, pick out a special tree, and decorate it... BUT it's ALSO the season to dress up your kid in ridiculously CUTE hats! I just couldn't resist! Ya know it by seeing our Xmas card! Yes, home for the holidays is awesome, though I somehow cannot seem to find the time to bake a thing for Christmas, even though the ingredients have been bought for weeks now! (Why? One hint, his name begins with an "H"!)
Ya see, we've had some sleep issues in getting Hunter to go to bed and stay asleep...Translation, we were finally getting around to eating dinner when we'd normally be going to bed! ANYHOW, we're working on some different techniques now though that seem to be improving the situation. (We don't rock him to sleep anymore but put him drowsy but awake in the crib... and assure him we're here when he protests... he's a QUICK learner, THANK GOOODNESS.)
Furthermore, Hunter is growing like a weed; he's up to 15 lbs if the scale at home is correct... his next checkup isn't until 4 mo. I will be taking some more pix tomorrow b/c Hunter turns 3 mo old (Dec 18th)!!!! Will try to post those soon...
Also, Hunter and I have had some fun visiting my junior classes at Westfield HS and attending the English dept holiday party.... BTW, my maternity leave ends on Jan 7, so if you would like to pop over for a quick visit w/ me and Hunter during the week sometime, I would LOVE IT. Give me a call!

Holiday Cheer!

Hi All!
It's been a while since we posted some new pix, sorry!
We had a great Thanksgiving; we hosted at our house ... a potluck deal-io -- NO we're not crazy trying to do it all ourselves. It was YUMMY thanks to the fam! (Check out Hunter's T-giving outfit compliments of Aunt Karen...gobble gobble is on the feet and "Thankful for Mommy" is written next to the turkey!)

Hunter had his 2 mo checkup, was about 13 and 1/2 lbs! He's growing so fast and is so smiley! And has started cooing now!

He's not quite sleeping thru the night totally... he sleeps after his bath from 7:30 till 2:30... (So yes, Charlie and I can take a breath in the evenings... but waking up at 2 or 3 is till rough!) .....EXCEPT last nite I was able to pacify until 5 am... hope that can work again other nights -- if we just make sure he gets his feedings in the during the day! (Looking at his pictures, you can tell that he eats WELL... he will *not* waste away if he can skip that middle of the nite feeding...)

Oh! And the girls, Hunter's cousins, (Kelsey-4 and Lauren-7) got to see him while they were in town visiting! They agree with us: they think the baby is CUTE!

Oh yes, and we went to Picture People for a family portrait right around Hunter's 2 mo mark... and it went well! My former student, Di, took the picture and did a great job! :) (I have scanned them in here...)

This weekend we're going to get our tree and decorate the house... will post those pix next week!

I visited co-workers and my students 2 weeks ago and it was great! Colleagues oooooohed and awwwwwed over Hunter and students were so sweet... my sub, Sherry, is doing a great job so I don't even worry AT ALL! I might pop over for another visit soon before Xmas.

Happy Halloween!!!

We went to Cox Farms to pick out pumpkins... plenty cold that weekend, windy too! Hunter is in the sling contraption Krista is wearing... too cuddly! :)

We also celebrated our anniversary a little late this past weekend by going to Tarara Winery... a favorite place of ours. Gorgeous views of multi-colored trees and tasty wine!

Finally, some CUTE pix of Hunter... "Daddy's Little Helper" outfit is a cute one, sure... but my absolute favorite OF COURSE is where Hunter is in his Halloween Outfit: "Too Cute to Scare" --> He is just SMILING SOOOOOOOOOO BIG!

It's been a while since we posted... but we have been plenty busy with Hunter! He has turned one month old and now, actually, this week is Week #5. And to mark the occasion today, Hunter gave Momma SMILES on Demand! It was NO gas, my friends --- since Momma smiled at him and he smiled back 5 times in a row! THAT is exactly what I needed since he was a little "Fuss Monster" last night and deprived me and Charlie of much sleep! ;)

But first things first, here are some pix we took while hanging out with the Hennessey family and having some friends (Brigid, Hilary and Ben, and Vanessa) visit the house... We didn't get any pictures of Hunter's Grandma and Grandpa Jacks when Hunter had his first "spend-the-night" last weekend, (we needed them to sit the whole night b/c we had a wedding to attend) --- but hopefully Grandpa Jacks took some pictures with his camera... speaking of which, I will attach the picture Dave Jacks took on his camera a while ago and that Charlie and I have put as our screensaver b/c, well, not to brag... but Hunter looks like an absolute angel!

Oh and there are some random pix we have included as well: Hunter is showing his George Mason Pride, compliments of the onesie Papa Hennessey gave him... and then Krista LOVES his "Mom Rocks!" Rock N Roll onesie of course... and then there is Hunter in his little puppy dog outfit, given to him by Sandy and Jim Donovan... he's also sittin' in his chair talkin' away to me... and then Nana nestled on the crib's handle bar a brown bear which Hunter took a REAL liking to, staring at and hanging out with the bear for a good long time! ....And, of course, I couldn't resist taking a picture of Hunter's SPIKEY hair that he get after his hair is washed... too cute!
