Hunter Turns 10 months!

Hunter here.
Lemme just list the stuff that's new with me:

I can clap my hands!
I am able to wave bye bye, but NEVER on command... I have only done it 3 times in front of my parents.
I can now pull myself up to a standing position.
I love to point to stuff.
I still LOVE to read! Sometimes, I like to point to stuff when I read. I still turn the pages.

Mom's trying to teach me Baby Sign Language, but when she makes the sign for "More Milk" I just grin at her. Silly Mommy.
I can drink from my sippy cup.
I can crawl FASTER now... Yup, Dad's gettin' the baby gates today.
I like to walk one foot in front of the other holding onto a grownup's hands.
I like to watch Mommy blow bubbles and try to catch them.

It's official: I have ONE tooth. That's OK, I LOVE table food and eat it (gum it) anyway!
I still like peek-a-boo or hide and seek...
I LOVE to "Rough House" now, ya know jump on pillows 'n stuff and generally act goofy & laugh like a maniac.
Oh yeah, and I just started to play "Chase the Baby" with Mommy, but I think it's WAY MORE fun to stop in my tracks and LET Mommy catch me than to actually TRY to get away. ;)

That's what's new with me. Hope you guys are doin' alright and are havin' a good summer too.

Hugs and Slobbery, Wet Kisses...

July Happenings!

Hello!

On Friday, July 4th we went to Mona's house to celebrate... and Hunter just fell in love with their dog, Homer. Luckily Homer is THE MOST docile dog you'll ever meet... Hunter was SO excited to pet Homer I thought Hunter would just burst! Made Charlie and I almost want to get a dog for the lil guy... ALMOST.

Also... July was PAWTY TIME! Hilary and Rob's youngest son, Ben, AND Hunter's cousin Kara, daughter of Krista's sister Kathy and her husband Tim, both just turned ONE YEAR OLD in July! So Hunter got a little taste of what's to come in a couple of months! It was a perfectly fun pool party for Benny and a happenin' house party for Kara. Good times!

Also, we attended our neighbors Vern and Pam's engagement party, an adult only affair for which we had grandparents Dave and Lyn babysit. Had a great time at the Benihana restaurant and at our neighbors' house afterwards, meeting their friends and family. They literally live right next door so it was nice to just walk home after!

Finally, Charlie's sister Lisa and her girls came for a visit as well. We went over to Dave and Lyn's for dinner with all the Jacks family ... Aunt Lisa and Cousins Lauren and Kelsey had a great time playing with Hunter. It was so nice to visit with them! We'll hit the pool later this week since they're here for the week... am sure will have more pix from swimming later!

Hope all is well....
Love to all,
Krista, Charlie, and Hunter

Capon Springs, Summer Fun... Making Lemonaide from Lemons...

Check out these pix from our Hennessey Family vacation that we took with my mom and dad and sisters and their kids. Was a lot of fun -- it's a very family-focused resort in the WVA mountains... we plan on going back each yr. Charlie esp enjoyed golf with the guys and Krista enjoyed the spa they have on site, as well as enjoying the lovely scenery and company of our family/friends! :)

Also, the Sat after the trip, Charlie and I had Dave and Lyn (Charlie's folks) and Tom and Barbara (Krista's folks) over to the house for a happy hour... to spend time w/ Hunter & us, as well as spend some R & R on our new deck... we're psyched... it was done in fact by Jun 19 so Krista was able to have girlfriends Kristi and Amy over from work to celebrate the end of the school yr. Hunter in these pix is wearing Papa's/Tom's safari hat...

Finally, Hunter and Mommy went to the pool one afternoon recently and got caught there in crazy torrential rain... but Hunter doesn't seem phased at all, does he ?!!?! He is such a love bug and the light of our lives, Charlie and mine. To us, the fickle VA weather doesn't really matter... the sun is always shining with Hunter around and that amazing grin.

Signing off for now...

9 Months Photo Op!

Hello there!
Just a little update and some pix....
Our Mr. Hunter is drawn like a magnet to the AC vent... I, personally, just think he likes to feel the wind in his hair and pose like a model! ;)

Hunter is also crawling like a champ! Guess he listened to his mama (not that I'd EVER think to stunt his growth)... but I begged him to not really get goin' crawling till I was DONE with school... and sure enough... He started on hands and knees, i.e. perfect form on my LAST day of school. Hunter's such a good boy not to start this crawling thing early before we'd baby-proofed ;)

Now though in just a week and a 1/2 he's getting quite fast -- it's time for GATES!

Also, to note... he's showing less interest in bottles and is LIKING table food A LOT. He has for the past month been eating many solids & some with chunky texture... but his real love is... Cheerios (OK, so he's obssessed) but now he loves all table food... like at Capon Springs, (a family vacay we took with Hennesseys) Hunter was ALL over green beans, lima beans, fruit, ANYTHING! The best part: HUNTER HAS NO TEETH YET to eat all this food... I'd like to think that he gums it all up before swallowing, but I think that with our little "Hoover" that's wishful thinking!

His 9 month check up went swimmingly... he has good iron count to wean him off bottle and onto reg milk come 11 & 1/2 months and his height and weight (shockingly for the latter) was within the normal 50-75% percentile range @ 21.5 lbs (height was 28.5 in.) ... he's just thriving and we are LOVING watching him grow and learn... HIS BEST TRICK besides his daycare lady teaching him to "high five" is to "Turn The Page, Hunter" when Charlie and I read books to him... it's a real kick. He does it on command or without... in fact, gets a little annoyed if you forget and turn the page without his assistance. ;)

Hope all is well with you ~ Much Love,
Krista, Charlie and Hunter
