October Tricks 'n Treats !!! ~ 2009 ~

This month was filled with a ton of fun activities:
  • We went early in October to the pumkin patch, Cox Farm, as you saw in last post.

  • Tried to go to another pumpkin patch, Ticonderoga, with Emily and Pat and Caden, but got rained out. So we painted pumkins indoors! Was fun and easy clean up with washable paints.

  • Hunter realy likes to help Mommy around the house. He LOVES to sit on top of the island & throw what Mommy chops into the crockpot.

  • Hunter also started loving the digitial camera, purposely posing with his bear Buddy in the bay window and then asking to "see" the pictures in the viewer afterwards. What a HAM.

  • Also, Hunter continues his LOVE of chocolate... wearing his "Chocolate Monster" shirt again, and again, and again... like any die-hard chocolate lover would.

  • We carved a jack-o-lantern together as a family the night before Halloween...Hunter LOVED to squish the pumkin guts! FUN.

  • Hunter dressed up as a frog for trick-or-treating on Halloween (even though Hunter had a bit of a cold) and went door-to-door. Hunter is a HUGE fan of getting free candy from strangers who think he's adorable! ;-)

  • And, best of all, Charlie and I celebrated our FIVE YEAR anniversary this October 16th! Even though it was raining cats and dogs the following Saturday afternoon, we had the grandparents babysit so Charlie and I could head out to our regular place to celebrate, Tarara Winery in Leesburg, VA. We enjoyed a tasting, then bought some wine, cheese, and crackers and had a "little feast" inside the winery. It was cozy near the fire, but we did miss Tarara's outside deck with its wonderful views. Then we went to BONEFISH, one of our fav restaurants. Finally, we ended the evening @ home in front of our fireplace! Ahhhhh. :-)
This month has been packed -- was a lot of fun!
In November, however, the cold season hit us hard (sometimes more than once) -- we're banking on a nice holiday though in Dec. with Charlie off for an entire week! And we're TOTALLY looking forward to THANKSGIVING at Aunt Karen and Uncle Kevin's house. We have so much to be thankful for!

Hope all is well with you,
Love, K, C, and H.

Cox Farms!

Early in October, the weekend of the 10th when we celebrated Aunt Lisa's 40th b-day, we Jacks Clan went to Cox Farms. Was a lot of fun... Hunter sure does love his cousins Lauren and Kelsey... and his auntie and Grandma and Grandpa Jacks!
Enjoy the pix,
Love Charlie, Krista and Hunter

Hunter Turns TWO!

We celebrated Hunter's 2nd B-day on Friday the 18th with just the three of us.... we had pizza and cake. We knew that Hunter likes to dip things, and so we knew he'd like to dip his pizza slice into Mommy's ranch, but NOTHING prepared us for him taking the cup of ranch and drinking it! Crazy Kid!

Then, the next day, Saturday the 19th, we had a picnic style party with friends and extended family. Was a lot of fun! A Big Thank YOU to those who joined us in the celebration ~ and thanks for your generous gifts; thank you cards are coming shortly! An especially big thank you to Hunter's grandparents, Dave and Lyn and Barbara and Tom, who helped contribute food and party supplies!

PLEASE NOTE: The Super-Duper Rich Chocolate Cake that you will see Hunter eating in the pictures taken from the Friday celebration was HIS choice. When inside the grocery store, I *tried* to point out a bunch of white vanilla (more suitable for a toddler) cakes, but Hunter was adamant in that the choice MUST be chocolate. You can tell though as pictures progress, however, he was feeling a "Chocolate hangover" well before he totally finished his piece! Nonetheless, he munched on a slice of chocolate cake every night for the rest of the week after his dinner!

Hope all is well.
Luv, Krista, Charlie and Hunter
