June Fun!

Whew! Thank GAWD it's summer... the latter part of the school year felt like it was going in SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW motion! ;-P

So far, only one full week in, Hunter and I have had a lot fun! My last day of school was Friday the 19th, so I had some teacher friends over for a happy hour... And then, specifically, Emily & Pat came over later that afternoon with their son Caden, who is only 2 and 1/2 mo older than Hunter... and I think b/c Hunter is the ONLY boy at daycare, he's pretty enthused about his friendship with a real boy's boy like Caden! And then, the following Wednesday we met up with Caden and Emily again at Frying Pan's Animal Farm Park; friends Jessica and Kelsey joined us as well. The kiddos LOVED the park and petting/seeing the baby animals. Unfortunately, my camera charger wasn't working at the time so I didn't get photos, but I am hoping Emily has some to share.... Still, I plan on taking Hunter back with Charlie this summer as well; I think Hunter would enjoy it again and again! I really want Charlie to see the joy and wonder on Hunter's face as he sees and pet these baby animals, or what Hunter calls "Ana-mohs".

Then, the following day, Hunter and I met up with Caden and Emily again at Ashburn Library for the Kiddo Reading/Song time. Hunter seemed to really enjoy it... He also liked meeting the library's mascot, which is a full grown adult in an owl costume with reading glasses, to whom Hunter called out "Whoooo Whoooo!" :-)

We also got in some pool time last week with Aunt Karen and cousins Aidan and Sean. It had been a whole year since we'd been to the pool last, so it was like a whole new experience for him! Hunter was a bit trepidatious at 1st, but then he really got to liking it! Aidan even held him and gave him a spin in the water. Hunter learned he could stand in the most shallow part of the big pool, and he loved playing on the steps of the pool as well. Again, my camera wasn't working, so I am hoping I can snag some pictures from Aunt Karen b/c she *did* have her camera that day. Finally, we also attended in early June Caden's 2nd birthday party at a park in Leesburg. It was hot as Hades, but Hunter had an awesome time on the playground and hitting the pinata! Hunter, we discovered, likes the candy called "NERDS".... Finally, Hunter's new thing is trying on all of our shoes! I finally got the dang camera working and so have some cute shots of Hunter in my tennis shoes. Enjoy! Hope all is well with you and yours.

Samantha's Birthday and Mother's Day

We went to West VA to celebrate Samantha's 14th birthday as well as Mom's Day in May. Kids had a lot of fun playing with the blow up ball play yard! :-) Enjoy the pics.

Charlie's Birthday!

Lyn and Dave hosted a cookout party to celebrate Charlie's birthday one weekend, and I took Charlie out to dinner at the Melting Pot while Mom and Dad babysat the lil man. Also, we celebrated Charlie's birthday on the "real day" by blowing out candles and having cake with Hunter. Hunter LOVES cake we learned! For the rest of the week, Hunter could see the remains of the cake through the clear glass cake platter cover and he would ask for cake everyday after dinner, pointing & saying "Happy? Happy? happy peeeease?" ;-) For Dave and Lyn's cookout, Lisa and the girls, Lauren and Kelsey, were there AND Karen and Kevin came with their boys Aidan and Sean. All the kids played together so nicely! (For the cookout, Mom and Dad were out of town at the memorial for Aunt Sharon in FL.)
By the way, the reason why Hunter has wet hair in some shots is b/c we doused him with water b/c it was SO hot out that particular Saturday in April!
OK, hope all is well & enjoy the pics.

Easter!

Karen and Kevin hosted a brunch for O'Malley, Hennessey, and Jacks families, both immediate and extended. And, of course, she had an Easter Egg Hunt for the kiddos. Was a lot of FUN!

Sharon's Celebration of Life Memorial

Hello All,
I know it's been forever, but I am posting the pics from March.... Hunter, Karen, Dad/Papa and I travelled to Asheville for my Aunt Sharon's Memorial ....I decide to take Hunter with me to meet his 2nd cousin Jake, who is the son of my super cool cousin Kristina; Jake is only 1 day younger than Hunter -- they hit it off! The entire weekend was a special experience. As you can see, the pavillion is set right on top of the mountains; it was a gorgeous setting and a wonderful celebration of Sharon's life -- however, we missed her presence still. Still, I think we all appreciated how great it was to see our wonderful extended family. :-) It was an experience I will treasure for a long time.
Enjoy the photos.
With Love, Krista
