Hunter Turns TWO!

We celebrated Hunter's 2nd B-day on Friday the 18th with just the three of us.... we had pizza and cake. We knew that Hunter likes to dip things, and so we knew he'd like to dip his pizza slice into Mommy's ranch, but NOTHING prepared us for him taking the cup of ranch and drinking it! Crazy Kid!

Then, the next day, Saturday the 19th, we had a picnic style party with friends and extended family. Was a lot of fun! A Big Thank YOU to those who joined us in the celebration ~ and thanks for your generous gifts; thank you cards are coming shortly! An especially big thank you to Hunter's grandparents, Dave and Lyn and Barbara and Tom, who helped contribute food and party supplies!

PLEASE NOTE: The Super-Duper Rich Chocolate Cake that you will see Hunter eating in the pictures taken from the Friday celebration was HIS choice. When inside the grocery store, I *tried* to point out a bunch of white vanilla (more suitable for a toddler) cakes, but Hunter was adamant in that the choice MUST be chocolate. You can tell though as pictures progress, however, he was feeling a "Chocolate hangover" well before he totally finished his piece! Nonetheless, he munched on a slice of chocolate cake every night for the rest of the week after his dinner!

Hope all is well.
Luv, Krista, Charlie and Hunter

End of Summer... So Bitter Sweet!

Hunter and Mommy got together with Emily and Caden yet again for fun at Frying Pan Park and Burke Lake Park... Hunter and Caden are regular BFF's! It was SO GREAT to have so much time with such an awesome girlfriend (she's a teacher too!).
And we ALL (meaning the Hennessey/Lang/ O'Malley/Jacks Clan) went to Capon Springs again this year! Mimi and Bob went too, AND Charlie's folks Dave and Lyn Jacks went as well! And, Karen's family friends the Patricks joined us too. Capon was "One Last HURRAH!" before school started back up (for teachers) Aug 31st...

There was awesome food at the main house, golfing, driving the golf carts, hiking, batmitton, basketball, hiking, playing in the sand box & on the playground, long drinks from water fountains running with real, cool, yummy spring water, happy hours, and late-night UNO and poker games (of which Samantha and I won the "pot"!) It was a blast & oh-so-fun, but after I got back, I was thinking: I might need a vacation from my vacation as the lil guy didn't sleep in! ;-) Hope we can continue to go year after year with our loved ones and make it a wonderful!
ALSO, Hunter has made his LOVE of chocolate apparent -- You'll see pix of him digging into some chocolate chip pancakes and a chocolate sundae... he cannot get enough! So, I got him a shirt with a monster on it who has chocolate all over his face and the caption reads: "CHOCOLATE .... G-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-D!"

Finally, Hunter LOVES to go shopping with his Mama! How time flies; I remember (like it's yesterday) having his infant seat inside the shopping cart, and now 2 years later HE is pushing the cart! CRAZY! *BTW, I personally think it's funny; take note of the "Mommy Juice" inside his little cart! hee hee ;-)
Hope all is well,
XOXO Krista, Charlie & Hunter
