In our family we have a tradition that the birthday kid -- in this case Charlie -- gets a KING'S breakfast! So I served up eggs with sauteed onions and cheese, sausage, and cinnnamon rolls!!! Then, Hunter and I made the birthday cake ourselves (compliments of Betty Crocker) and it was DEE-LISH! Moist chocoloate cake with creamy rainbow speck icing. And then that night we had a pizza party! The following weekend Charlie's mom threw a soiree in Charlie's honor as well and invited the Hennessey side. The O'Malley boyz, my kid, and the Ryan girls get on SO well! Was a lovely time! :-)

BTW, the cake we made Daddy was under a HEAVY glass cake plate cover; well, after having a piece nightly for dessert for a week, Hunter wasn't really into letting Daddy have that last piece, so while Charlie and I were hanging on the deck and all was quiet (too quiet) we discovered that Hunter had lifted that heavy lid to dig into that last piece of cake with his bare hands... I couldn't even be mad @ him b/c he was so darn tenacious and cute!
