Hunter Turns One Month Old!

It's been a while since we posted... but we have been plenty busy with Hunter! He has turned one month old and now, actually, this week is Week #5. And to mark the occasion today, Hunter gave Momma SMILES on Demand! It was NO gas, my friends --- since Momma smiled at him and he smiled back 5 times in a row! THAT is exactly what I needed since he was a little "Fuss Monster" last night and deprived me and Charlie of much sleep! ;)
But first things first, here are some pix we took while hanging out with the Hennessey family and having some friends (Brigid, Hilary and Ben, and Vanessa) visit the house... We didn't get any pictures of Hunter's Grandma and Grandpa Jacks when Hunter had his first "spend-the-night" last weekend, (we needed them to sit the whole night b/c we had a wedding to attend) --- but hopefully Grandpa Jacks took some pictures with his camera... speaking of which, I will attach the picture Dave Jacks took on his camera a while ago and that Charlie and I have put as our screensaver b/c, well, not to brag... but Hunter looks like an absolute angel!
Oh and there are some random pix we have included as well: Hunter is showing his George Mason Pride, compliments of the onesie Papa Hennessey gave him... and then Krista LOVES his "Mom Rocks!" Rock N Roll onesie of course... and then there is Hunter in his little puppy dog outfit, given to him by Sandy and Jim Donovan... he's also sittin' in his chair talkin' away to me... and then Nana nestled on the crib's handle bar a brown bear which Hunter took a REAL liking to, staring at and hanging out with the bear for a good long time! ....And, of course, I couldn't resist taking a picture of Hunter's SPIKEY hair that he get after his hair is washed... too cute!

October 9th
Hunter is 3 weeks old TODAY! Hard to believe...
I have attached some pix for your viewing pleasure ;)
Two of the attached pix are of Hunter in his cool Redskins onesie (definitely meets with Dad's approval)... doesn't the one picture look like he's flexing his muscles??? ;)
Then there's another picture of Hunter in his 1st REAL CLOTHES OUTFIT... doesn't he look like a Big Boy?!
Finally, Hunter got his first real tub bath last week! So cute, little, squirmy and FUN! Daddy's hands look HUGE next to Hunter, even if he weighs 9 lbs 14.4 oz now!
That leads me to my next point...I had a lactation consult today where Hunter was weighed before a feeding and afterwards to make sure he was getting enough milk... and, man oh man, is he ever!?! Hunter has put on A WHOLE POUND since his last week's well baby visit. (I guess they normally only gain 1/2 lb a week.) Anyhow, they measure the baby after I feed him as well and in only 15 min he took in an amazing 138 grams of milk. Hunter doesn't mess around when it comes to his food, I guess!
As for Momma and Poppa, we're fine... Loving Hunter but we're NOT loving the sleepless nights...!!

October 1st
Today was Charlie's 1st day back to work after 2 weeks of paternity leave. He missed Hunter and me like crazy he said :) We missed him terribly too. (But alas, there is a mortgage to pay, right?)
Over the past few days we have done the following:
Daddy read Hunter some books in the rocker chair,
Mommy and Daddy took Hunter to the local coffee shop for a Cup of Joe in the evening (he was a GEM the entire 45 min we stayed there and hung out),
We took Hunter on his 1st stroller ride at sunset,
We visited with Kathy, Tim, Samantha, and Baby Kara (we're excited that these cousins will only be 2 months apart! What great playmates!),
We gave him another sponge bath (~for which he was WONDERFUL. Hunter never cried a bit; in fact, he may have just liked it when we washed his hair - Mom thinks this means he won't pitch a fit for the eventual baptism... we'll see. His hair also dried all spike-y... it was too cute),
And Krista went to a bridal shower for friend Jessica D. with "Auntie" Hilary who was a dear and drove me b/c I am not quite allowed to drive quite yet from the C-section. It was great to see all of my wonderful, women work friends! (They wanted me to bring Hunter, but I told 'em he was with his grandparents... I will bring him by the high school/work in a few weeks.)
Nana and Grandma Lyn and Grandpa Dave also have been over for dinner and over-night visits, which entails providing dinner & helping out with Hunter and those middle-of-the-night feedings. And Mona brought dinner over tonight with her daughter Meredith! What a great network of friends and family we have!
This coming weekend we plan to attend Fall Festival at Cox Farms to pick out pumpkins and enjoy the fall weather. We will have more pix then; in the meantime, please enjoy the attached photos of recent happenings!
