The night before Santa came, we went to Christmas Eve mass with Nana and Papa... then we read Hunter THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS... then, at home, we laid out the note & cookie platter for Santa.... the latter of which, our little naughty Hunter helped himself to! Still, despite the late hour, Hunter really got into writing the note and signing it and everything... it was pretty cool!
And, the next morning, Hunter definitley GOT the concept of opening gifts this year... he loved it! In fact, once his crazy-ton amount of prezzies ran out, he was a bit chagrined seeing Charlie and I continue to open ours. Oh well. He will just have to adapt. Santa was pretty generous though, getting Hunter an art easel, a small and large dump truck, and a Little Einstein "computer". Mommy and Daddy got him some clothes, books, and best of all -- Matchbox cars with super cool wheel car-carrying case. * BTW, every day since Xmas, Hunter will play with the easel, matchbox cars, and dump truck; plus, we read 3 stories or more each night ~ it was a spot-on Christmas!
Then, we sang "Happy Birthday" to Baby Jesus in front of the Nativity Set as is the Hennessey custom. Hunter TOTALLY dug that. And, we ate our faces off with cinnamon rolls, coffee, juice, ghutta, and egg & sausage & onion casserole -- DEE - LISH!!!
That night we went over to Kevin and Karen's house to hang out and exchange gifts; was loads of fun... Hunter especially liked to play with Aidan and Sean's kitty cats!
Then, the next day we went over to Mom and Dad's/ Nana and Papa's to exchange gifts and hang out and have Christmas dinner. Was delicious and fun, even with all the grandkids around! :)
Speaking of fun chaos.... got Hunter and Caden together again to play... they loved pushing each other on the ride on fire truck... what a thrill!
And, last but not least, we had Lisa and the girls stay at our house for a few days to celebrate Christmas... was a LOVELY time. :-)
