In May, we had Nana and Papa over to dinner and to hang out... as always, it was a blast! And, we celebrated Mother's Day w/ a YUMMY breakfast and then a trip to Ticonderoga Farms (it's literally 5 min away)... was SO MUCH FUN! For me, as mom, that was the ultimate gift: seeing Hunter have soooooo much fun. Gosh, I love that little guy!!!!!!!!!!!
*** BTW, the deal with the boots in the pix is this: Hunter's most favorite item he's inherited from his older O'Malley cousins has to be his yellow school bus rain boots! He'd put them on any time of day and run around and say, "My am a fire fighter, Mommy!" (Gotta love those mixed up pronouns!) Though I chuckle to think of real firefighters in such garish boots, I think my son would make a great fire fighter one day!
Also in May, we participated in "Tommy's Run for a Reason" Fun Walk. This is an event to raise money and awareness for SUDC (Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood), which is what my sister Kathy and her husband Tim now believe to have been the case with our niece Kara who passed December 26, 2009. (Autopsy and toxicology reports revealed no cause of death) Though it was a sad reason to gather, it felt good to do something positive. Also, there was yummy BBQ lunch served afterwards as well as a raffle... (for which we won a $50 gift card to our fav restaurant Bonefish)... & there were awesome activities for the kiddos! Hunter did arts and crafts, rode an actual pony, played put-put, played and danced to the live band AND .... drum roll please ~ He Got to Climb into a REAL Fire Truck! (He is obssessed with being a fireman and fire trucks!) But mostly, it was a great day to be together as a family and to remember Our Kara ... it was a beautful day because LOVE WAS IN THE AIR. :-) We love Kara and miss her dearly... and we wish always to support Kathy and <3,>
Love, Krista
